Continuing Education Courses

 

Credited training for health professionals such as Physicians, Physician Assistants, Respiratory Therapists, Pharmacists, Nurses, School Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and others to learn about asthma and patient education.  Training participants have been involved in presenting a variety of patient education programs.

 

 

Clinic Site Asthma Education

 

Visits to clinics to inform all personnel about asthma management and communicating asthma information to patients.  Inhalers and peak flow meters are demonstrated, so support staff can monitor their patients' use.

 

 

School Site Informational Sessions

 

In-service asthma education for school staff, including school nurses, teachers, coaches and support personnel.  Participants learn about proper use of medications, use of peak flow meters, developing a student "asthma action plan," and how to provide an active, supportive environment for children with asthma.

Pamphlets, fact sheets and videos about a variety of subjects involving lung health, such as smoking, air pollution, and respiratory diseases, are available upon request.
